Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Dairy Queen restaurant.
- Lead, coach, and motivate team members to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain high operational standards.
- Schedule, supervise, and support employees during shifts to ensure efficient store operations.
- Train new employees on company policies, food preparation, food safety, customer service, and operating procedures.
- Monitor food quality, product presentation, and cleanliness to ensure Dairy Queen brand standards are consistently met.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and resolve issues professionally to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Prepare, cook, and serve food products according to recipes and company quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, receiving deliveries, and minimizing food waste.
- Monitor labour costs, productivity, and assist in achieving sales and profitability goals.
- Perform cash handling duties, including opening and closing procedures, cash reconciliation, and bank deposits as required.
- Ensure all Point of Sale (POS) transactions are processed accurately.
- Assist with store opening and closing procedures and maintain security of company assets.
- Support the Store Manager in implementing company policies, promotions, and operational initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming restaurant environment at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a food service, restaurant, or hospitality environment is required.
- Previous leadership, shift lead, supervisor, or assistant management experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, food preparation, food safety, sanitation, and inventory control.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop employees.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Experience with cash handling, POS systems, and daily cash reconciliation.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to prepare schedules and operational reports are considered an asset.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
