Overview
Luke's A to Z Rentals is a growing, locally owned equipment rental company seeking a skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment & Small Engine Mechanic to join our team. This is a full-time position responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a diverse fleet of rental equipment, ranging from small tools and lawn equipment to construction and heavy equipment.

Duties
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, and electrical issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing on rental equipment.
- Repair and maintain:
- Small tools and power equipment
- 2-stroke and 4-stroke gas engines
- Lawn and garden equipment
- Generators, pumps, pressure washers, and compactors
- Skid steers, mini excavators, rollers, and other heavy equipment
- Inspect equipment upon return from rentals and identify required repairs.
- Prepare equipment for rental by ensuring units are safe, clean, and operational.
- Complete work orders and maintain accurate service records.
- Order parts and communicate repair requirements to management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving equipment when required.
- Follow all company and safety procedures.
Experience & Qualifications Required
- Minimum 3 years of mechanical repair experience.
- Experience servicing and repairing small engines and construction equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
Preferred
- Experience with diesel engines.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems.
- Electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Experience working in an equipment rental, construction, agricultural, forestry, or heavy equipment environment.
- Commercial driver's license considered an asset.

- $25.00 – $35.00 per hour (based on experience)
