Afternoon Shift Machinist – CNC Programmer/Setup
3:20pm- 1:50am Monday to Thursday
Location: Edmonton
A high-precision CNC manufacturing facility is seeking a skilled Machinist for our afternoon/night shift. This role requires someone who can program, set up, and operate CNC machines independently while producing quality parts to tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
- Program and set up CNC lathes and mills (Mazak, Doosan, Siemens, and/or Fanuc controls).
- Work from blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to produce precision components.
- Select tooling, set offsets, and optimize machining processes.
- Perform quality checks using precision measuring instruments.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and maintain production efficiency.
- Work independently with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong CNC programming and setup experience (both lathe and mill preferred).
- Proficiency with Mazak (Mazatrol), Siemens, or Fanuc controls.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks during a shift.
