Rick’s Good Eats – Food Truck & Festival TeamRick’s Good Eats is seeking a dependable and experienced Food Truck Operator to support and lead operations during our busy festival and catering season. This role is ideal for someone who is confident driving large vehicles, thrives in high-volume environments, and can take ownership of both food truck execution and on-site event coordination.
Key Responsibilities & Activities
Food Truck Operations
- Safely operate and transport the food truck to and from event locations
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness
- Load and unload food, equipment, and supplies for events
- Set up and break down food truck operations efficiently
- Assist with cooking, assembling menu items, and handling customer orders
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards at all times
- Monitor inventory levels and restock supplies during service
Event & Operational Leadership
- Coordinate and support large-scale events including festivals, concerts, and corporate catering
- Assist in managing food truck and equipment, including maintenance, repairs, and installations
- Ensure compliance with public health regulations and food safety standards
- Conduct quality control checks during food preparation and service
- Troubleshoot operational challenges during high-volume service periods
Catering & Event Management Support
- Assist with catering operations including setup, service, and breakdown
- Support handling of catering logistics such as order coordination and pack lists
- Ensure all event requirements (permits, licenses, insurance) are followed on-site
- Provide excellent customer service and assist in resolving issues or special requests during events
- Help ensure smooth execution of catering deliveries and on-site service
Requirements
- Valid G-class driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience driving larger vehicles (e.g., straight trucks, sprinter vans, or similar)
- Comfortable driving and parking a food truck in urban and event environments
- Willingness to provide a driver’s abstract upon hire
- Familiarity with vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Previous food truck or commercial kitchen experience is an asset
- Experience using kitchen equipment such as grills and deep fryers preferred
- Ability to work long, flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying equipment
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude and ability to perform under pressure
