We’re currently seeking a motivated and reliable General Facilities Cleaner/Hygiene Operative to join our dynamic Facilities Team.
Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and dependable Full-Time General Facilities Cleaner/Hygiene Operative in our team in an existing position. The Facility Cleaner plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment throughout Global Citrus Group's facility and surrounding grounds. This position supports the daily operations of the production team by ensuring workspaces, common areas, and washrooms are consistently clean, sanitary, and well maintained.
This role requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and sanitation. The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a team to complete assigned cleaning duties and routine inspections, ensuring all areas of the facility remain clean, safe, and operational throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean designated areas of the facility as assigned by the Plant Manager.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment throughout the building and surrounding grounds.
- Empty garbage and recycling receptacles and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Remove debris from work areas, entrances, loading docks, and exterior grounds.
- Sweep, mop, and deep clean floors using industrial floor cleaning equipment.
- Clean and sanitize washrooms, lunchrooms, offices, warehouse areas, and other common spaces.
- Dust and wipe down dock doors, equipment, fixtures, and other facility surfaces.
- Complete hygiene schedules, sanitation logs, and sign-off sheets accurately and on time.
- Conduct routine inspections of assigned areas to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are maintained throughout the shift.
- Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies as required.
- Use only approved food-safe cleaning chemicals and follow all cleaning procedures.
- Follow all company health and safety policies, food safety requirements, and sanitation standards.
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, equipment issues, or supply shortages to the appropriate supervisor.
- Perform other cleaning, housekeeping, and general duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a strong work ethic.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
- Ability to work in a cold or cool warehouse environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work with minimal supervision.
- General knowledge of food safety programs and warehouse procedures is considered an asset.
- Ability to follow established procedures and comply with all company health, safety, and food safety requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required.
- Ability to remain standing and perform physical duties for shifts of 8 hours or longer.
- Proven ability to perform duties accurately and efficiently.
- Must have reliable transportation.
HOURS
- Monday to Friday, Hours of work to be determined. Overtime may be required on occasion.
Working Conditions:
- After hours and weekend work may be required occasionally.
- Working in a warehouse with coolers for long periods.
