We are currently seeking a motivated Junior / Intermediate Civil Engineer or Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our growing team.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will support the planning, design, and delivery of civil engineering projects, including municipal infrastructure, site developments, roadways, grading, drainage, and related civil works. This role provides an opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects while collaborating with experienced engineers and multidisciplinary project teams.
The ideal candidate is technically strong, eager to learn, and interested in developing practical engineering solutions from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare civil engineering designs, drawings, calculations, reports, specifications, and technical documents.
- Complete design work related to roads, site grading, drainage, stormwater management, earthworks, and municipal infrastructure.
- Support preparation of construction packages, cost estimates, and tender documents.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Complete field reviews, site inspections, construction support, and project documentation.
- Assist with engineering assessments, feasibility studies, and infrastructure planning projects.
- Review drawings, shop drawings, and contractor submissions.
- Support project managers and senior engineers with project delivery activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA.
- 2–8 years of relevant civil engineering experience preferred (strong entry-level candidates may also be considered).
- Experience with civil infrastructure design including:
- Roads and access design;
- Site grading;
- Earthworks;
- Drainage and stormwater management;
- Utilities and site servicing.
- Experience in energy, municipal, or industrial facilities
- Experience with construction support and field coordination
Assets (Nice to Have)
- Experience with building construction, renovations, building assessments, or multidisciplinary facility projects would be considered an asset.
- Experience with northern, rural, municipal, or Indigenous community infrastructure projects would be considered an asset.
- Experience with project management practices (scope, cost, schedule control) is an asset
- Familiarity with Civil 3D and AutoCAD
