Job Overview
The Warehouse & Order Fulfillment Associate will assist with daily warehouse and order fulfillment operations. This includes reading customer orders received by email, checking product names, sizes and quantities, preparing the correct products, packing orders, completing basic order and shipping documents, operating a forklift and pallet jack when required, and preparing goods for customer pickup, driver pickup, courier, or transportation company shipment.
This role requires someone who is comfortable with hands-on warehouse work and also careful with paperwork. Accuracy is very important, as the employee must make sure that the products, quantities, customer information, shipping instructions, and documents all match before an order is released.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and review customer orders received by email
- Identify product names, sizes, quantities, shipping instructions, and any special customer requirements
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately
- Check product names, sizes, quantities, and order details before releasing orders
- Prepare, complete, and check basic order-related documents, including order forms, packing slips, customer pickup paperwork, shipping labels, waybills, and carrier documents when required
- Prepare shipping documents for courier, trucking, or transportation companies when orders need to be shipped
- Ensure that all paperwork matches the correct customer name, product, quantity, address, and delivery or pickup instructions
- Match prepared products with the correct documents before releasing goods to customers, drivers, couriers, or shipping carriers
- Operate a forklift and pallet jack safely when required for moving, loading, unloading, or organizing products
- Assist with shipping and receiving, including preparing items for customer pickup or driver pickup
- Receive incoming products, store items properly, and help keep the warehouse organized
- Check stock and notify the team when inventory is low, missing, damaged, or different from the order quantity
- Communicate with the office, supervisor, or sales team when order details are unclear, incomplete, or do not match available stock
- Assist with loading, lifting, moving, and organizing warehouse products as needed
- Keep completed order and shipping documents organized for company records
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in the warehouse area
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures when using equipment, lifting products, and moving materials
- Follow instructions from supervisors and report issues promptly when errors or problems are found
- Work respectfully with the team, take responsibility for assigned tasks, and maintain a positive attitude
Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehouse work, shipping, receiving, order picking, packing, inventory, or order fulfillment is preferred
- Experience reading customer orders, checking packing slips, preparing shipping labels, waybills, courier documents, or carrier paperwork is an asset
- Ability to read and understand customer orders received by email in English
- Basic computer and email skills are required
- Ability to complete basic order and shipping documents accurately
- Strong attention to detail, especially with product names, sizes, quantities, customer names, addresses, and shipping instructions
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Able to stand, walk, lift, and move products as required for warehouse work
- Able to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and focus
- Able to communicate clearly with the team when there are issues with orders, products, stock, or documents
- Basic counting, quantity-checking, and simple math skills
- Comfortable asking questions when order details or shipping instructions are unclear
- Forklift experience is preferred
- Ability to use a pallet jack safely is preferred
- Forklift certification is an asset
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
