We are seeking skilled and motivated Journeyman and 2nd - 4th Year Apprentice Plumber/Gasfitter with a strong background in commercial mechanical systems to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidates will have hands on experience working on all aspects of plumbing and pipefitting, with knowledge of commercial boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, hydronic systems, piping and pipe fabrication. These position offers opportunities for growth, hands-on experience, and the chance to work on diverse projects that require precision and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair mechanical piping systems on commercial projects.
- Install commercial boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, and hydronic heating systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation and repairs.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other construction tools efficiently and safely.
- Read and apply schematics for complex piping systems, HVAC components, or mechanical assemblies.
- Perform basic math calculations for measurements, material estimates, and system layouts.
- Assemble pipework, fixtures, fittings, and related components in accordance with industry standards.
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Collaborate with project manager, supervisors, and other trades to complete projects on schedule.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment while following all applicable safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in plumbing, gasfitting, or related construction fields; apprenticeship or technical training preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge with familiarity in carpentry, HVAC systems, welding, and maintenance work.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other construction machinery safely.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations necessary for installation tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to plumbing and gasfitting work.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various project environments.
- Valid certification or license as a Journeyman or willingness to obtain necessary licensing as an Apprentice.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 pounds), stand for extended periods, climb ladders or scaffolding, and perform physically demanding tasks consistently.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (preferred).
Pay is dependent of experience and qualifications
Journeyman $42.00 - $45.00
Apprentice - $21.00 - $33.60
