About Green Meadow Landscapes & Maintenance
First Established in 1989 as a numbered company Green Meadow Landscapes just supplied maintenance services. Over the years the company established a large amount of maintenance customers and in 1995 changed from a numbered company to “Affordable Cleaning of Alberta Ltd” and then in 1997 to the current trade name Green Meadow Landscapes & Maintenance. Our services include landscaping, snow removal, maintenance work as well as large landscape construction projects. We have been a preferred contractor for the City of Calgary for over 30 years as well as hold many contracts with a variety of condominium corporations and Calgary businesses. We are known for quality, excellent service, high industry standards and fast response time. We have gained a “True Service” reputation through meeting the demands of our clients by going above and beyond. The team at Green Meadow Landscapes and Maintenance are all safety trained to the highest industry standards as we are COR certified with the ACSA (Alberta Construction Safety Association). Green Meadow Landscapes & Maintenance (GML) is seeking a knowledgeable, safety-focused Herbicide Applicator to join our growing team in Calgary. This role is responsible for the safe, compliant, and effective application of herbicides as part of our commercial and municipal landscape maintenance programs.

Our team values horticultural knowledge as much as application experience.
The ideal candidate may hold advanced horticultural credentials, such as being a Certified Horticultural Technician, and comes with extensive knowledge of plant health, species identification, and proper pruning techniques.
This level of plant knowledge strengthens herbicide application accuracy, supports long-term plant health, and ensures environmentally responsible vegetation management.

Apply herbicides in strict accordance with product labels and Alberta regulations.

Identify weed species and determine appropriate treatment methods.

Mix, measure, and prepare herbicide solutions safely and accurately.

Operate and maintain backpack, ATV, and truck-mounted spray systems.

Complete required documentation through SiteDocs and internal reporting systems.

Conduct and submit Job Hazard Assessments (JHA).

Conduct Equipment Pre-Use Inspections.

Conduct Daily Vehicle Inspections.

Complete Mandatory Site Tracking documentation.

Follow all PPE requirements and safety protocols.

Maintain compliance with Alberta Environmental Protection legislation and municipal bylaws.

Communicate professionally with clients, supervisors, and team members.

Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License (clean abstract preferred).

Valid Alberta Pesticide Applicator License (Landscape/Industrial Vegetation category preferred).

Strong understanding of Alberta weed species and invasive plants.

Knowledge of plant health care and disease prevention considered an asset.

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and working extended hours during peak season.
