Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both residential and commercial painting, with a strong understanding of color theory, construction practices, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. This role requires a commitment to quality workmanship and the ability to work effectively on various projects, including renovations, restorations, and new constructions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers as needed.
- Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Mix paints and stains to achieve desired colors and finishes.
- Perform drywall repairs, plastering, and caulking as necessary.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine project specifications.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure project timelines are met.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition; report any malfunctions or issues.
- Follow safety protocols while working on construction sites to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist in the installation of fixtures and trim carpentry as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in residential and commercial painting projects.
- Strong knowledge of color theory and application techniques.
- Familiarity with construction estimating and basic math skills for measuring areas accurately.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Experience with plastering, stucco application, concrete finishing, masonry work, and renovation projects is preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately.
- Prior experience on construction sites is highly desirable.
- Maintenance Person experience with skills in maintenance tasks is a plus.
