Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented X-Ray Technologist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, primarily X-rays, to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent patient care skills, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure high-quality imaging services. The X-Ray Technologist will work closely with medical staff to provide accurate imaging results in a professional and compassionate manner.
Duties
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Operate X-ray equipment to capture diagnostic images according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Ensure proper positioning of patients to obtain clear and accurate images.
- Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow strict safety guidelines to protect patients, staff, and oneself from unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Review images for quality assurance before forwarding them to physicians for diagnosis.
- Keep detailed records of procedures performed, patient information, and equipment maintenance logs.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment in compliance with health regulations.
- Stay current with advancements in radiologic technology and participate in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) or equivalent credential recognized by relevant licensing boards.
- Proficiency in medical terminology is highly desirable.
- Prior experience working with X-ray equipment and performing diagnostic imaging procedures is preferred.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety standards and protocols.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients.
- Compassionate approach with a focus on patient care and comfort.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and assist patients as needed.
