THE YARD GYM
WE'RE HIRING
Studio General Manager
1166 Dundas St W, Toronto | Full-Time
Opening September 2026
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Yard Gym is opening its doors on Dundas St W in the Trinity Bellwoods hood — a premium, class-based boutique fitness concept built to stand above every studio around it. We're looking for a General Manager to run the business end-to-end: the first face members meet, the closer who turns interest into memberships, the operator who keeps orders, budgets and the day-to-day humming, and the creative eye behind on-brand content that makes Toronto stop scrolling.
This is not a front-desk job. You'll own the studio. You'll wear many hats — sales, operations, finance, marketing, people — and you'll do it with a genuine curiosity for how AI can make all of it sharper, faster and more personal. If you're an organized, detail-obsessed builder with a creative streak and a real interest in fitness and wellness, this is your seat.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
AI-Driven Sales, End to End
– Own the full sales journey — first enquiry to booked trial to signed membership — and constantly look for ways AI can improve every step of it.
– Use and refine AI tools for lead follow-up, personalized outreach, smart scheduling and CRM automation so no lead ever goes cold.
– Bring a high level of interest and fluency in AI systems: you're excited to test tools, build workflows, and turn them into a genuine competitive edge for the studio.
– Lead in-studio tours and trial conversations, closing memberships and add-ons with warmth and confidence.
– Track conversion targets and report on what's working — using data (and the tools that surface it) to make better decisions.
Events, PR & Campaigns
– Plan and run events end-to-end — launch parties, pop-ups, brand collabs and community events — owning the set-up, the room and the teardown.
– Organize run clubs and recurring community events in collaboration with the fitness team, turning the neighbourhood into part of the TYG family.
– Drive PR and local marketing — build relationships with Trinity Bellwoods businesses, media and creators that keep TYG the name on everyone's lips.
– Run marketing campaigns from concept to execution to results — on-brand, on-deadline, and measured.
Operations, Orders & Budgets
– Act as the general manager of the space: own day-to-day operations and keep everything running to a premium standard.
– Manage ordering and inventory — retail, supplies, amenities — so the studio is always stocked and on-brand.
– Own budgets: track spend, manage vendors, and help keep the studio profitable and efficient.
– Build and maintain the systems, rosters and checklists that keep standards high when you're not in the room.
On-Brand Social & Content
– Bring a creative mindset to social content — capture and post daily material that reflects the energy of the studio.
– Follow strict on-brand guidelines to the letter: every post, story and caption is polished, consistent and unmistakably TYG.
– Apply meticulous attention to detail so nothing off-brand or sloppy ever goes out.
People & Community
– Be personable, warm and welcoming to every single member, guest and prospect — people remember you after one conversation.
– Handle conflict resolution with calm and care, turning friction into loyalty.
– Build relationships that turn members into referrals and advocates.
– Partner closely with the coaching team to hand off new members seamlessly.
WHO YOU ARE
– Genuinely interested in AI — you follow the tools, love experimenting, and see how they can transform a sales process from end to end.
– Exceptionally detail-oriented — nothing off-brand, sloppy or half-finished gets past you.
– Creative — you have an eye for content and an instinct for what looks and feels premium.
– A natural planner and organizer — you build systems, manage budgets, and keep many plates spinning without dropping one.
– An event-maker at heart — you love bringing people together and sweating the details that make a night memorable.
– Personable and warm — clientele feel welcomed and valued the moment they walk in.
– Cool under pressure — skilled at conflict resolution and comfortable making the call.
– A confident closer who can sell with authenticity, on the phone and in person.
– Comfortable wearing many hats and taking full ownership — someone who doesn't need to be chased.
– A fitness enthusiast (essential) who lives an active and fit lifestyle.
COMPENSATION & GROWTH
$60,000–$70,000 achievable salary, depending on experience, including performance-based commission.
– A true leadership seat with ownership of sales, ops, budgets and brand from day one.
– A clear path to grow with us as the studio and network expand.
– The chance to shape one of the best gym openings Toronto has ever seen.
