Rozen Steelworks specializes in the fabrication of pressure piping, power piping, and structural steel. We have just opened our second shop and are taking on even more project work as we continue to grow. We are currently looking for dedicated Journeyman/Woman Welders to join the Rozen Steelworks team in Acheson, AB.
Requirements:
- Journeyman Ironworker (Generalist) ticket from a recognized provincial training authority
- CWB certification – FCAW ticket
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in structural steel erection in commercial or industrial environments
- Proficiency in structural bolting and steel alignment procedures
- Current Confined Space Entry ticket
- Current WHMIS certification
- Fall Protection, EWP, Rigging and Hoisting certificate considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment
Responsibilities:
- Erect and install structural steel including beams, columns, braces, trusses, platforms, stairs, and miscellaneous steel
- Safely rig, signal, and guide structural steel during lifting and placement operations
- Align, level, plumb, and secure steel members using appropriate tools and equipment
- Install and torque structural bolts in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes
- Perform field modifications and fitting to ensure proper assembly and alignment
- Perform SMAW and FCAW welding for structural connections, repairs, and fabrication in all positions
- Read and interpret structural drawings, erection plans, shop drawings, weld symbols, and fillet weld sizing
- Read and follow work orders to produce work meeting required specifications
- Apply required procedural markings to product
- Operate aerial work platforms, telehandlers, and other construction equipment as required
- Inspect connections, welds, and installed steel for compliance with quality standards
- Conduct pre-job and pre-task inspections; monitor equipment, parts, and tools for hazards or potential downtime
- Participate in hazard assessments and toolbox meetings
- Complete scheduled work in cooperation with the foreman; report material discrepancies or equipment issues promptly
- Work safely in tight confined spaces as required
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe work area at all times
- Work effectively with supervisors, crane operators, and other trades to achieve project objectives
- Other duties as required
Terms of Employment:
- Monday to Friday - 6:00 am to 4:30 pm - 50 hour weeks
- Overtime after 40 hours
- Steady employment backed by contracts secured through 2027
- Hourly rate is per Union Collective Agreement
