Roots Child & Family Services is a growing organization dedicated to supporting children, youth, and families through culturally responsive, relationship-based, and community-focused services.
We are currently seeking a compassionate, experienced, and motivated Registered Social Worker (RSW) to join our team and support youth, families, and community programming.
Position Overview
The Registered Social Worker will provide emotional and behavioural support, case coordination, advocacy, and guidance to children, youth, and families accessing services.
The role involves working collaboratively with community partners, supporting intake and service planning, and helping individuals build skills and access appropriate supports within community, residential, and program settings.
Services are delivered using trauma-informed, relationship-based, and culturally responsive approaches.
Responsibilities
- Provide emotional and behavioural support to children, youth, and families
- Support case management, intake, assessments, and service coordination
- Assist with crisis intervention, safety planning, and behavioural support
- Collaborate with schools, hospitals, agencies, and community partners
- Maintain professional documentation, reports, and case notes
- Participate in program planning, team meetings, and service development
- Advocate for client needs and access to services
- Support culturally responsive and trauma-informed approaches to care
- Assist with community outreach and partnership building as required
- Support family engagement and goal planning processes
Qualifications
- Registered Social Worker (RSW) in good standing with the OCSWSSW
- Minimum of three (3) years experience working with children, youth, families, or vulnerable populations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of mental health, behavioural support, trauma-informed care, and community resources
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Experience in case management, crisis intervention, and community-based support preferred
- Ability to obtain a valid Vulnerable Sector Check required
- A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation is strongly preferred
Schedule
Hours may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and community-based support depending on program needs.
