Wage Range: $23.90 up to $28.80 hourly
Position Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and hands-on individual to support our Maintenance team in maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and efficient manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will gain practical experience in industrial maintenance by assisting with preventative maintenance activities, facility upkeep, equipment servicing, and general maintenance support tasks.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with general maintenance and production support activities as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Support shop floor organization, housekeeping, and workplace cleanliness initiatives.
- Assist with routine preventative maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform basic maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment.
- Help maintain tools, maintenance supplies, and spare parts inventory.
- Assist Millwrights and other team members with repairs, equipment installations, and troubleshooting activities.
- Perform basic building maintenance tasks, including minor repairs in office, production, and amenity areas.
- Support facility improvement projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow all safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Complete assigned documentation and maintenance records as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Perform all duties in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and applicable regulations.
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety devices at all times.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Immediately report hazards, unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses.
- Participate in all required health and safety training.
- Promote a culture of safety through responsible work practices and active participation in workplace safety initiatives.
Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Enrollment or completion in a college-level program related to Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Millwright, Manufacturing Engineering, Electromechanical Technology, Skilled Trades, or a related field is considered an asset.
Required Skills & Expertise:
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and preventative maintenance practices.
- Experience using hand tools and measuring devices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate a mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment, machinery, and repair work.
- Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools.
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Physically capable of performing manual labor, lifting materials, and working in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
Equipment/ Tools/ Technology Used:
- The use of precision tools such as laser alignment equipment, dial indicators, micrometers, and precision/optical levels.
- The use of testing equipment such as vibration analysis as well as other techniques used in predictive and preventive maintenance.
Physical Demands:
- Many tasks involve bending, stooping, or kneeling to access or work on machinery parts
- The job requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving around
- Working with in a manufacturing facility with some exposure to the elements
