We are currently seeking an experienced Horticulture Technician / Gardener who is passionate about plants, horticulture, and maintaining beautiful gardens to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and care for high-end residential gardens and landscapes.
- Perform planting, pruning, deadheading, dividing, transplanting, and seasonal garden enhancements.
- Monitor plant health and identify pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and environmental stress.
- Execute detailed garden maintenance including weeding, edging, mulching, and soil management.
- Assist with irrigation system monitoring and adjustments.
- Install and maintain annual flower displays and seasonal container arrangements.
- Provide recommendations for plant care, improvements, and landscape enhancements.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Ensure all work meets Dawland's high standards of quality and client satisfaction.
Qualifications Required
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional horticulture or garden maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of ornamental trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, and plant identification.
- Experience maintaining luxury residential properties, estate gardens, or botanical landscapes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid Ontario G Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
Preferred
- Diploma or Degree in Horticulture, Landscape Technology, Arboriculture, or a related field.
- Landscape Ontario certifications.
- IPM (Integrated Pest Management) certification.
- Experience with irrigation systems and garden renovation projects.
- Horticultural Technician designation or equivalent industry credentials.
