Location: Abbotsford, BC area
Job Type: Full-Time (Monday – Friday, 10–11 hr shifts during high-volume periods)
Compensation: Competitive Pay + Growth Opportunities
About Glass World
Glass World is a proud, family-owned and operated company. We are embarking on an aggressive growth trajectory in our Wood Shelving & Cabinetry Division—expanding our capacity from 3 custom kitchens per day to 8+ complete kitchens per day (plus vanities and integrated wood closet shelving) over the next two years.
To support this rapid growth, we are looking for a highly skilled, hands-on Production Supervisor / Lead Hand to run our wood manufacturing floor.
The Role
This is not an office position. You will be leading from the floor, actively working alongside a team of up to 20 skilled craftspeople and machine operators. You will oversee daily operations across high-end CNC nesting stations, edgebanders, a full finishing/paint line, and assembly machinery.
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, know wood manufacturing equipment inside and out, and love leading from the front line, this is your opportunity to build something big with a supportive family business.
What You’ll Do
- Floor Leadership: Lead, train, and manage a floor crew of up to 20 production workers, ensuring daily targets, safety standards, and quality benchmarks are met.
- Hands-On Operation & Troubleshooting: Work directly on the production line, assisting with setups, production flow, and troubleshooting machinery.
- Machinery & Flow Management: Oversee operations across 3 CNC nesting machines, 2 edgebanders, a automated paint line with a brush sander, dowel machine, case clamp, and support equipment.
- Departmental Scope: Manage the unified production line handling all components for custom kitchen cabinetry, vanities, and built-in wood closet shelving.
- Scale & Expand: Partner with executive management to optimize workflow as we double our production footprint over the next 24 months.
Qualifications & Experience
- Machinery Expertise: Exceptional, proven hands-on knowledge of Biesse machinery (CNC nesting centers, edgebanders, edge processing, etc.).
- Leadership Experience: Minimum 3–5 years leading teams of up to 20 people in a custom or high-volume wood, millwork, or cabinetry manufacturing environment.
- Finish & Assembly Know-How: Solid understanding of cabinet assembly, dowel/case clamp construction, and automated finishing lines/brush sanding.
- Work Ethic: Strong physical presence on the floor, ready to work 10 to 11-hour days, Monday through Friday, when demand requires.
- Growth Mindset: Strong problem-solving abilities with the drive to step into higher leadership roles as the department expands.
Why Join Glass World?
- Family Culture: Join a supportive, family-owned business where your contribution directly impacts company direction.
- Uncapped Growth: Ground-floor opportunity to lead an expansion that will more than double output over the next two years.
- Competitive Compensation & Benefits: Excellent pay structured to reward leadership, dedication, and technical capability.
