Instrumentation Calibration Technician (Field Service)
Marsh Instrumentation Ltd. located in Burlington, Ontario provides instrumentation custom design, engineering and calibration services to process, manufacturing and regulated industries. Marsh is looking to a hire full time Field Service Calibration Technicians to join our team.
Requires comprehensive knowledge of Calibration on process plant instrumentation and their applications, including commissioning, troubleshooting of instruments. Must be experienced in the use of common process calibrators, communicators and test standards used for calibration and trouble shooting.
Job Function Primary Duties
- Performs calibration and service on all varieties of plant process instrumentation such as Pneumatic and Electro-Pneumatic control system, Electrical control system, Electronic process instrumentation, Pneumatic process instrumentation,
- Typical instruments to be serviced and calibrated; Mag meters, PH, Conductivity, Flow, Temperature, Pressure, Level Transmitters, Controllers, Recorders, Analyzers, Signal Converters, etc.( process instrumentation).
- Experienced using various manufactures calibrators such as Druck, Hart communicators, Endress & Hauser, Fisher Porter, Fluke, Foxboro, Fuji, Honeywell, Joffra, Milltronics, Schlumberger (Actaris/Itron), Unomat.
- Onsite trouble shooting, repair, adjustment of primary elements to final control elements and their applications during commission, start-ups.
- Interpret technical work orders instructions and manuals, schematics, and P&IDs in order to establish proper equipment function and job execution.
- Updates Work Instructions and or calibration procedures
- Provides on-site customer interface and communication with clients must be fully fluent in English.
- Maintains company assets
- Maintain information/documentation relevant to maintenance and calibration programs by compiling and entering data via Lap top and by written manual reports.

- Will carry Lap top to communicate to field instruments, data loggers PLC’s also must be strong on basic computer skills Excel, MS Word,
- Good Driving record
Technician will be dispatched from Burlington office or from their residence. Overnight is possible but not the norm, Over 95% of all field service work is local travel.

Must possess and maintain a valid Class G Ontario driver's license. Must be physically capable of performing activity including lifting, bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders, working from scaffolding and heights. Must be prepared to work outside of normal working hours and overtime as required to meet client requirements. The successful candidate will be required to provide an original and acceptable police security clearance and driver’s abstract.

Experience: - Minimum 8 years’ experience in calibration and instrumentation control experience.
Education: - Minimum 2 year college diploma as an Industrial Instrumentation Technician - - Valid Certificate of Apprenticeship.

The successful candidate will be required to provide an original and acceptable police security clearance and driver’s abstract and is able to lift 50 pounds.
