Overview
VK Communications is a growing Ontario-based company providing professional installation services for Starlink satellite internet, security camera systems, alarm systems, access control, structured cabling, networking, and other low-voltage solutions for residential and commercial clients.
We are expanding our network of independent subcontractors and are looking for experienced, reliable, and professional technicians who take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service. If you are self-motivated, have your own tools and vehicle, and are looking for consistent subcontracting opportunities, we would like to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Install and service CCTV/security camera systems.
- Install and program alarm systems.
- Install access control systems, including door controllers, readers, locks, and exit devices.
- Complete residential and commercial low-voltage rough-ins.
- Install and terminate CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling.
- Install Starlink satellite systems and related networking equipment.
- Install network racks, switches, access points, patch panels, and networking devices.
- Test, troubleshoot, and commission installed systems.
- Read blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams.
- Complete installation photos, service reports, and required documentation.
- Train customers on the operation of installed systems.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Represent VK Communications professionally on every job site.
Qualifications
- Experience in low-voltage, telecommunications, security, or electrical installations.
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- CCTV Systems
- Alarm Systems
- Access Control
- Starlink Installations
- Structured Cabling
- Network Equipment
- Low Voltage Rough-ins
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working on ladders, rooftops, and in various weather conditions.
- Ability to read installation drawings and construction plans.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Reliable vehicle.
- Complete set of professional installation tools.
- 24–28 ft extension ladder.
- Valid Ontario G Driver's Licence.
- Smartphone with internet access.
- Working at Heights Certification (preferred).
- WHMIS Certification (preferred).
- WSIB coverage and Commercial General Liability Insurance (preferred).
- Ability to travel to various job sites across Ontario.
