Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Gas Station Attendant to provide excellent customer service and maintain smooth operations at our convenience store. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting customers, handling transactions, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the station. Bilingual skills and familiarity with retail sales and POS systems are highly valued to enhance customer interactions and sales opportunities.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with fueling, purchases, and inquiries
- Operate POS systems accurately for cash handling and transactions
- Perform cashiering duties including processing payments, giving change, and issuing receipts
- Conduct product demos and upsell items such as snacks, beverages, or automotive supplies
- Maintain cleanliness of the station, store shelves, and fuel area
- Manage merchandising displays to attract customers and promote sales
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during fueling operations
- Handle phone inquiries professionally using good phone etiquette
- Assist in inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
- Provide exceptional customer service to encourage repeat business
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service preferred
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities such as Spanish or other languages are a plus
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Familiarity with POS systems, merchandising, and cashiering procedures
- Excellent organizational skills and time management to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to upsell products and enhance customer experience
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining store presentation
- Friendly demeanor with strong interpersonal skills to connect with diverse customers
