Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting aggregate/contaminate safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and excellent driving skills. The Truck Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the integrity of the freight and the equipment used to haul it.
Responsibilities
- Operate trucks and trailers to transport aggregate/contaminate to designated locations.
- Conduct pre, mid, and post trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel use, time, expenses, and any incidents that occur during transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Perform routine maintenance on vehicles, including basic repairs as needed.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 driver's license with clean abstract is required.
- Proven experience in aggregate and contaminate hauling is preferred.
- Must have First Aid/CPR/ H2S, CSTC/CSO safety tickets.
- Must have completed Cargo Securement, Pre-Trip Inspections, Provincial Hours of Service, and Weights and Dimensions courses.
- Must wear all Personal Protective Equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to perform basic repairs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly over the radio.
- Must be able to pass background checks and drug screenings as required by company policy.
