Position Summary:
JBH has an exciting full-time opportunity for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Payroll Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Manager, Payroll, the Payroll Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Bi-weekly payroll processing, including reviews and checks for payroll file;
- All processes involved with leaves of absence including pension and benefit administration and invoicing employees;
- Working with HOOPP system remittances and reconciling;
- Analyze, process and follow up on payroll queries from Managers and Employees;
- Investigate payroll discrepancies arising from pay vs UKG Time and Attendance system;
- Electronic remittance of source deductions and vendor payments;
- Ad hoc assignments as required or assigned;
- Assist with year-end processes and reconciliations.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or equivalent;
- Preferred PCP certification;
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ payroll experience in a unionized environment;
- Preferably good working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now
- Prior experience with Kronos/UKG;
- Entry level accounting knowledge;
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Outlook;
- Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of Excel;
- Good problem solving and analytical skills;
- Meticulous attention to detail;
- Professional attitude with a customer service focus;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent organization skills and ability to function in a highly manual environment;
- Ability to deal with confidential information with a high degree of diplomacy.
