Collingwood Home Hardware Building Centre is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Hardlines Receiver to become an integral part of our operations team. This position is responsible for receiving, verifying, and organizing incoming hardlines merchandise while maintaining accurate inventory and ensuring products are available for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Receive and verify incoming hardlines shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect merchandise for shortages, damage, or discrepancies and report issues promptly.
- Accurately receive products into our inventory management system.
- Label, organize, and stage merchandise for the sales floor and warehouse.
- Coordinate the unloading of shipments with our lumber yard receiving staff when required.
- Work closely with department managers to ensure merchandise is available for sale as quickly as possible.
- Process vendor returns, transfers, and claims as required.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Follow all company policies and workplace health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Previous receiving, warehouse, retail, or inventory experience is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Comfortable handling merchandise and performing physical work throughout the day.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to learn inventory software.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
