Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience in VMware infrastructure with a focus on enterprise virtualization, cloud foundation, and network security.
This role requires proven technical depth, operational discipline, and the ability to support complex production environments.
- Strong experience planning and implementing VMware NSX upgrades from 4.1.x to the supported NSX version in support of VCF upgrade readiness.
- Strong experience upgrading TKG clusters and upgrading NSX Security Intelligence to the vDefend SSP platform.
- Strong experience upgrading VMware Aria for Networks and Logs.
- Experience upgrading traditional VMware environments to VCF 9.x in production environments is an asset.
- Solid knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), including architecture, deployment, operations, and lifecycle management.
- Strong understanding of NSX networking, security policies, and distributed firewall concepts.
- Experience managing and upgrading Omnissa Horizon VDI platforms.
- Deep understanding of vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across virtualization, storage, and networking layers.
- Experience with migration projects and hybrid cloud environments, specifically VMware to Microsoft Azure Public Cloud.
- Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Create, maintain, and update technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures for all upgrade activities, design documents, and platform changes.
