Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dishwasher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchenware, dishes, and cooking equipment, supporting the smooth operation of our restaurant or hospitality establishment. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety, contributing to an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using appropriate cleaning methods
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing areas and ensure proper storage of clean items
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including organizing supplies and cleaning workstations
- Support kitchen staff by providing clean dishes promptly to facilitate food service
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Manage waste disposal and recycling processes efficiently
- Assist with inventory management by notifying supervisors of supply shortages or equipment issues
- Cleaning of all work areas including but not limited to, prep station, dish areas, servers areas
Requirements
- Prior experience in a restaurant, hotel, or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures and food handling safety standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Basic understanding of kitchen operations and food service practices is a plus
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including evenings or weekends if required
- WHMIS certification required
