BC Assessment is currently looking for a temporary People Services Assistant (12-month term) to join our team in our Victoria location.

Who you are
You are an organized, service-focused professional who is passionate about providing support to clients through all aspect of the employee life cycle. You will ideally have experience in a public sector, unionized environment and be comfortable processing transactions in a Human Resources Information (HRIS) system (we use Workday at BC Assessment). You also enjoy working in a fast-paced environment that often requires adherence to deadlines and thrive working both independently and as part of a team.
What you’ll get to do
As the People Services Assistant, you will report to the People Programs and Workday Advisor. You will often be the first point of contact related to client inquires and requests, so it is important that you enjoy providing a high level of customer service to a variety of customers. You will also provide a wide range of technical services and support various program areas in our People Division including HR transaction processing, reporting and records management.
In this role, you will:
Process a variety of HRIS transactions such as new hires and compensation changes
Investigate Workday system issues and escalate complex issues to the HR functional owner
Provide detailed explanations to clients on various policies and processes and interpret collective agreement articles
Compile data and generate HR reports, statistics and perform basic research
Maintain various SharePoint pages so that employees can easily access human resources information, policies, procedures and forms
Work collaboratively and provide administrative support to People Division staff in a variety of portfolios
This position is excluded from the bargaining unit.
