Its services include the sizing of main and auxiliary fans, ventilation ducts, air-heating systems, and infrastructure such as regulators and ventilation doors. The company also conducts technical studies and feasibility analyses for various phases of mining projects.
Dello Ventilation also performs on-site work, including airflow and air-pressure measurements, fan performance testing, and industrial hygiene investigations to diagnose and correct ventilation issues.
Lastly, the team develops numerical ventilation models to simulate airflow behaviour in mines, including gas, heat, and smoke dispersion, and provides technical training in mine ventilation and specialized software.
Internship Description
The intern will participate in various engineering activities related to underground mine ventilation. The internship may include supporting the design and sizing of ventilation systems, analyzing field data, and preparing technical calculations.
The intern may contribute to modelling ventilation networks using specialized software, assessing airflow requirements, and sizing equipment such as fans, ducts, and air-heating systems. They may also assist in preparing technical reports and engineering documents.
Depending on the projects underway, the intern may also participate in analyzing field measurements, including airflow rates, pressures, temperatures, and gas concentrations, as well as evaluating the performance of existing ventilation systems.
Hourly wage: $25/hour.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree student in mining engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
- Interest in mine ventilation and underground airflow systems
- Basic knowledge of fluid mechanics or ventilation is an asset
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and Word
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly
- Proficiency in both French and English
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
- Valid ASP Construction safety card is an asset
Pay: $25.00 per hour
