Job Summary
We are seeking one passionate and dedicated Hairstylist, and one diligent and motivated Apprentice to work closely with our existing Senior Hairstylist. Requirements
- Licensed Hairstylists must have a clientele.
Hairstylist must have enrolled in and completed a Ministry-approved hairstyling diploma program at a registered institution, fulfilled a minimum of 2000 work hours in an apprenticeship posiition, hold a valid Certificate of Qualification in hairstyling, and be on the Skilled Trades Ontario Public Register. Barbering experience is an asset, but not required.
Apprentice must have enrolled in and/or completed a Ministry-approved hairstyling diploma program at a registered institution.
Duties
- Perform professional hairdressing services including cuts, colour, treatments, and styling according to client preferences
- Assist senior stylists with various salon tasks and learn advanced techniques through hands-on experience
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and overall cleanliness in all work areas, tools, and equipment
- Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with clients, understanding their needs, and offering personalized recommendations
- Upsell retail products and additional services to enhance client satisfaction, extend longevity of results achieved at the salon, and boost salon revenue
- Manage front desk responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, answering the phone, checking in clients, and handling payments
- Build loyalty and strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and positive reviews
- Stay updated on the latest hair trends, techniques, and salon industry developments
Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills to create a welcoming environment for clients
- Proficiency in hair styling techniques including cutting, colouring, and styling tools
- Knowledge of sanitation procedures to ensure a safe and hygienic salon environment
- Ability to upsell retail products effectively while maintaining genuine client relationships
- Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to work collaboratively within a team setting
- Eagerness to learn and grow professionally as an apprentice or seasoned stylist
- Ablility to provide men's hair styling including fades/tapers, shaves, buzz cuts, and beard lineups/trims would be an asset
- Retail sales experience is a plus for promoting products and services
- Front desk experience is beneficial for managing appointments and client interactions

Pay: $17.20-$30.00 per hour
