As a
Project Manager at Unitech, you will lead the successful execution of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. You’ll work closely with Superintendents, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Project Leadership & Delivery-
Lead all aspects of project execution from preconstruction to turnover and warranty

Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, trade partners, and internal stakeholders

Ensure projects are delivered in alignment with client goals, priorities, budget, schedule, and quality expectations

Develop and implement project charters, execution plans, procurement strategies, and risk mitigation plans
-
Coordinate estimating, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, tendering, and contract administration activities
-
Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, monthly reporting, change management, and cash flow analysis

Review and administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, contemplated change orders, change directives, and change orders

Lead tendering activities including trade package development, tender coordination, tender analysis, and award recommendations

Collaborate closely with Site Superintendents daily to support successful project implementation and expedite project progress

Ensure a consistent delivery of service and that all commitments made to clients are executed effectively
-
Keep projects organized, proactive, and simple through strong systems, communication, and leadership
-
Support commissioning, turnover, life safety inspections, systems demonstrations, deficiency management, and warranty activities
Preconstruction & Planning-
Provide constructability input throughout design development to optimize value, logistics, schedule, and risk mitigation

Review drawings, specifications, and construction details to ensure clarity, completeness, and best-value solutions

Identify project risks proactively and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with project stakeholders

Coordinate and participate in project startup meetings and collaborative planning sessions

Source and evaluate construction materials, products, and equipment based on value, constructability, and market conditions

Support development and implementation of project schedules and milestone planning
Client & Stakeholder Management-
Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with clients, consultants, architects, trade partners, and stakeholders

Provide timely, accurate, and proactive communication and reporting throughout all project phases
-
Chair project meetings, issue meeting minutes, and follow through on action items
-
Manage stakeholder expectations with professionalism, transparency, and accountability
-
Support business development pursuits, project interviews, and relationship-building opportunities
-
Build trust through clarity, integrity, and collaborative problem-solving
Safety, Quality & Lean Construction-
Champion a safety-first culture across all project activities
-
Support implementation of project safety plans, quality management processes, and risk management strategies
-
Monitor site quality, safety, productivity, and overall project performance
-
Promote lean construction practices, collaborative planning, and continuous improvement initiatives
-
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and maximize client value
-
Ensure projects are delivered in alignment with drawings, specifications, contracts, and owner expectations
Team Development & Collaboration-
Support and mentor Project Coordinators, field staff, and emerging leaders
-
Foster a collaborative, respectful, and solutions-focused project culture
-
Participate in operational planning, leadership meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives
-
Contribute positively to Unitech’s entrepreneurial and people-first culture
-
Bring a “whatever it takes” mindset to supporting successful project outcomes

5+ years of experience in a Project Management role with a commercial general contractor
-
Strong background in commercial, institutional, mixed-use, or multi-family construction projects
-
Experience managing projects through all phases from preconstruction and tendering through startup, construction, turnover, and warranty
-
Strong understanding of construction contracts, budgeting, estimating, scheduling, procurement, and cost control
-
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
-
Experience with project financial management including forecasting, reporting, invoicing, and change management
-
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, procedures, building codes, and project delivery processes
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain organization in fast-paced project environments
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar construction management software
-
Construction-related degree, diploma, designation, or trade background considered an asset
-
Strong understanding of lean construction principles and collaborative planning processes considered an asset
-
Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, and organizational skills
-
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required
-
