Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Shop Helper/Delivery Driver to join our team. This role involves assisting with yard operations, moving and organizing materials, delivering materials to sites and transporting demolition debris to the landfill. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience with commercial driving, and the ability to handle heavy lifting and operate equipment such as forklifts. Duties
- Operate trucks to transport materials and construction debris to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Communicate effectively regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Assist in loading and unloading materials, ensuring proper handling techniques are used.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and vehicle maintenance.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Maintain yard/shop cleanliness - Aid in minor maintenance as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with a valid driver's license.
- Air brake experience and endorsement considered an asset.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written formats.
- Experience operating forklifts or similar equipment is a plus.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and moving materials as required by job duties.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds or more).
- Experience in moving or handling large items efficiently and safely.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
