Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk, ensuring a welcoming environment
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages accurately
- Maintain and update electronic medical records using systems such as Epic and Medicalc
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures for patients
- Prepare patient charts and documentation for provider review
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure timely patient flow and appointment scheduling
- Handle administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and managing office supplies
- Ensure compliance with healthcare privacy regulations and office policies
Skills
- Strong computer and typing skills, including proficiency with MS Word
- Excellent multitasking, communication, organizational, and critical-thinking abilities
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with office equipment and basic administrative procedures
- Professional and courteous communication with patients, medical offices, hospitals, and surgical facilities
- Highly motivated, energetic, and eager to learn
The following are considered assets, but are not required:
- Medical Office Assistant (MOA) certification
- Reception or administrative assistant experience
- Medical transcription experience
- Experience with medical software
