Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Glass Tempering Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating and maintaining glass tempering equipment to produce high-quality tempered glass products. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with CNC machinery, and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in machining, welding, blueprint reading, and quality control to contribute to a dynamic production environment.
Duties
- Operate glass tempering machines with precision, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards
- Set up and calibrate equipment using CAD drawings, blueprints, and CNC programming skills
- Monitor the tempering process, adjusting parameters as needed for optimal results
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery including CNC milling machines, press brake machines, CNC lathes, and other manufacturing equipment
- Conduct quality control inspections using calipers, hand tools, and other measurement devices to ensure product specifications are met
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues utilizing mechanical knowledge and experience with programmable logic controllers (Fanuc or similar systems)
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings for proper assembly and fabrication procedures
- Operate forklifts for material handling within the warehouse or production area
- Assist in packaging finished products safely for shipment while maintaining warehouse organization
- Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure work environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments involving machining, welding, or assembly processes
- Proficiency with CNC programming, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, CAD software (SolidWorks preferred), and blueprint reading
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (Fanuc or equivalent) and press brake operations is highly desirable
- Ability to operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently
- Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools and calipers for measurements
- Strong understanding of quality control procedures and inspection techniques
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations during setup and inspection processes
- Warehouse experience is a plus, especially related to packaging and material handling
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues quickly
- Prior experience in manufacturing or machining industries preferred but not required
