Definition
- Packages materials and products manually. Performs basic quality control checks including measuring, weighing, strength testing, package counts, and evaluating product or package appearance. Folds & tapes boxes, applies labels, and stacks boxes on pallets according to direction. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Must arrive at least 5 to 10 minutes prior to your shift so that you are ready on the working floor for your 7am or 3pm shift.
- Pack Cookies from the belt into the proper trays/boxes picking up two rows if not more.
- Measure/ weigh, and count products and materials when packing to assure the weights are being packaged properly according to the customers needs.
- Examine and inspect materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met before it is sent to the skid. Any concerns need to directed immediately to your supervisor or Quantity Control technician.
- Record the proper checks on the trackabilities sheets every hour to assure the correct information is being reordered and sent to the customer.
- Load materials and products into package processing equipment properly and safely.
- Always keep all work areas clean and tidy. You must always keep busy, if unsure ask your lead hand for any duties that need to be completed. When there is a space between the doughs, make sure to always keep busy with cleaning.
- Keep everything from trays, cartons, shippers fully stocked to keep production moving smoothly.
- At the end of every shift, all areas MUST be kept clean and ready to go for next days production before you leave.
Requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Quick learner and can pick up tasks quickly.
- Attention to detail.
- Experience in the labour industry is a plus.
- Completed High School or Equivalent education is an asset.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Pay: $19.20 per hour
