Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Cook to join our dynamic team. In this important role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and appetizing meals while maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness. Your passion for cooking and attention to detail will help create an enjoyable dining experience that enhances resident satisfaction and supports our commitment to exceptional hospitality. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals and snacks according to approved menus, recipes, dietary requirements, and portion standards.
- Ensure food is prepared, presented, and served in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of taste, quality, and appearance.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, workstations, food preparation areas, and storage spaces in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature control procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring food supplies, rotating stock, and notifying leadership when replenishment is required.
- Support special dietary accommodations and resident preferences while ensuring nutritional standards are met.
- Collaborate with kitchen and dining team members to promote efficient operations and deliver a positive dining experience.
- Report equipment concerns, maintenance issues, or safety hazards promptly to ensure a safe and functional kitchen environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation or cooking; experience in retirement living, hospitality, healthcare, or food service environments is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and safe food handling procedures.
- Ability to prepare meals efficiently while maintaining consistency, quality, and attention to dietary needs.
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to kitchen cleanliness, organization, and meal preparation.
- Good physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks involving standing, lifting, bending, and moving throughout shifts.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Food Handler Certification or equivalent food safety certification is required.
Pay: From $22.49 per hour
