Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner while maintaining quality and presentation
- Assist with menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper food storage practices
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service periods
- Manage inventory of kitchen supplies and assist with ordering as needed
- Demonstrate excellent knife skills and cooking techniques for various dishes
- Participate in catering events as required, providing high-quality meal preparation
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role within the food industry
- Dietary department experience or dietary aide experience is preferred
- Strong culinary skills with knowledge of food handling, meal preparation, and cooking techniques
- Experience in fine dining settings is highly desirable
- Familiarity with menu planning and catering services is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices
