Assistant Superintendent – Structural Steel Day Care Project
Location: Calgary
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent for a structural steel Day Care construction project in Calgary. The ideal candidate is highly organized, safety-focused, and experienced in coordinating trades and maintaining project schedules in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage daily activities of subcontractors and trades
- Assist with maintaining and updating project schedules
- Conduct daily site inspections and ensure quality control standards are met
- Monitor site safety requirements and enforce safety procedures
- Track project budgets, labor, and daily production progress
- Work closely with the Superintendent, Project Manager, and internal crews
- Assist in managing and directing internal carpentry crews
- Maintain accurate site documentation, reports, and deficiency lists
- Ensure work is completed efficiently and according to plans/specifications
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Assistant Superintendent or Site Supervisor in commercial construction
- Experience with structural steel projects preferred
- Strong understanding of scheduling, coordination, and site logistics
- Knowledge of construction safety regulations and daily inspection requirements
- Ability to read drawings and coordinate multiple trades
- Carpentry experience or background considered a strong asset
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficient with construction documentation and reporting
