Overview
We are seeking a Production Supervisor at our food processing facility. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supervising the production of a unique and valuable food ingredient. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and be conscientious. Ideally this person would have some mechanical ability and experience in production, especially food production. This position is perfect for individuals looking to help in the growth of an up and coming processing company.
Responsibilities
The Employee shall perform duties commensurate with the role, including:
- Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day‐to‐day production on multiple product lines to exceed our customers’ expectations;
- Be responsible for production output, product quality and on‐time shipping for multiple customers and product lines.
- Develop systems and processes, including SOPs and KPIs that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets;
- Coordinate operations to meet sales and planning objectives;
- Recommend operational improvements, processes, and facilitation of cost reduction initiatives;
- Develop and maintain adherence of health and safety requirements and commit to plant safety procedures;
- Collaborate and develop effective relationships with internal departments to support the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes, strategies, plans, sales objectives, and new product development;
- Manage and promote a positive working environment for employees;
- Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards;
- Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and train, recruit, manage and develop plant staff;
- Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts.
Qualifications
- Relevant Education and/or the equivalent experience of 5 years of processing experience (preferrably food).
- Positive mindset and good ability to relate well with others
- Experience in managing or supervising a team
- Good physical condition and able to lift 50 lbs
- Drivers licence
- Mechanical or agricultural experience would be an asset
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating initiative and independence
Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
