Duties
- Operate heavy machinery including bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and forklifts with precision and safety in mind
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Load and unload freight using appropriate machinery, ensuring proper handling and safety protocols
- Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, and material movement as required
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks efficiently and meet project deadlines
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance activities
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, or similar machinery
- Certification or proficiency in forklift operation is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of freight handling procedures and safety standards for commercial driving
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs on heavy equipment when necessary
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and safety reporting
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites
- Physical stamina and coordination necessary for demanding operational tasks
