Position Overview
We are currently looking for an experienced Manufacturing Associate. This position will be responsible for coordination of work to ensure the successful completion of production schedules and shipments to achieve the business goals. The Coordinator will work closely with purchasing, production and shipping to ensure customer orders are met within the given timeframe – ensure the ongoing success of the production team, improve throughput and other in-house processes with the objective of reducing overall costs and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Productivity: Planning/Production
- Ensure the Health & Safety of themselves, team members and customers in an environmentally friendly manner
- Convert Customer’s drawings into 3D Models using SolidWorks for programming and production.
- Review and understand customer’s drawings and specifications and convey that information into planning
- Work with Engineering and Production to establish an effective manufacturing workflow/method for all parts.
- Assist in sourcing, reviewing, and approving MTRs.
- Create the routing to manufacture products as per customer requirements.
- Schedule jobs to the workstations that will ensure the best manufacturing efficiency
- Collaborate and communicate with Production Leads regarding jobs workflow and ensure the schedule is updated appropriately and in a timely manner
- Outsource production work when needed to ensure due dates are met
- Coordinate CNC Vietnam shipments to CNC Nisku for additional processing, and shipping to customers.
- Plan for CNC Vietnam Production and Inventory Picking as necessary
Productivity: Sales
- Read and interpret manufacturing drawings of mechanical components
- Open sales order and provide lead times based on current shop loading
- Provide the necessary quotes to customers
- Monitor all order’s progress and provide status updates to customers when required.
- Communicate with customers to ensure the products’ requirements are interpreted correctly and request additional information when necessary.
- Source for raw materials, and outsource processes for new and complex parts
- Monitor monthly sales values to ensure targets are achieved
Additional Support
- Support in purchasing of raw materials and outsourcing processes
- Support in inventory management, and logistics
- Support in coordination and problem solving within production as a back-up to Production Leads
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Mechanical Technologist Diploma or JM Machinist an asset
- Experience in a machining and manufacturing industry preferrable
- Working knowledge of manufacturing methodologies
- Competent in Modelling using SolidWorks
- Must be able read and interpret complex manufacturing drawings
- Proficient with MS applications, and ERP systems - JobBoss preferrable
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Sigma Six and /or other Continual Improvement experience an asset
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
Physical requirements:
- Able to lift to 50lbs
- Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods
- Manual dexterity for computer and equipment use
- Ability to bend, kneel, and perform general physical tasks as required
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Location: Nisku, AB
