Annual salary: $1,901.39 - $2,394.93 biweekly

The location of this role will be in our Edmonds office in Burnaby, British Columbia.
As a Co-op student, you will learn and experience:
- Practical, hands-on work experience directly related to Civil Engineering.
- Learning and training opportunities, including opportunities to network with your division.
- Learn all about other divisions and initiatives at BC Hydro.
- Take advantage of the opportunity to explore future career options.
Depending on what team the successful candidate is hired into, duties can also include some of the following:
- Assist in analyzing earthquake data to support seismic hazard analysis of critical structures.
- Enhance existing workflows for seismic hazard analysis by automating or semi-automating processes such as:
- Signal processing.
- Ground motion time series selection and scaling for seismic hazard input in structural analysis.
- Migrate existing workflows from MATLAB to Python or R to improve efficiency and flexibility.
- Implement new methods or improve existing processes for ground motion modeling of earthquakes.
What you bring
- To qualify as a candidate, individual's must be enrolled and yet to graduate from a recognized post-secondary institution in
Canada.
- Completed a minimum of 2nd year of a Civil/ Geological/ Geotechnical or Geophysics/ Computer Engineering Degree
program at an accredited university.
- Strong programming skills in Python and R would be an asset.
