This is your opportunity to hone the craft of being an expert-level barista while embodying aroma’s signature hospitality. As a Barista & Front of House Staff member, you’ll be responsible for crafting high-quality espresso-based beverages and other drinks, while ensuring every guest feels valued, seen, and welcomed. Responsibilities include demonstrating strong knowledge of coffee and our menu, operating the cash/POS system, dispatching orders efficiently, and maintaining a warm, attentive presence that elevates the guest experience from start to finish.
Job Details
- Acting as an ambassador of the aroma brand: always being courteous, professional, and genuinely warm while assisting guests with friendly, knowledgeable, and inviting communication
- Creating a welcoming atmosphere through eye contact, genuine smiles, and a helpful, positive attitude that makes every guest feel valued
- Preparing espresso-based and other beverages according to our recipes with keen attention to quality, presentation, and hospitality
- Meeting the brand’s operating policies and standards at all times
- Clearly communicating with team members to ensure smooth, positive, and efficient service between dispatch, coffee bar, and kitchen
- Maintaining a fully stocked espresso bar: keeping track of inventory as needed, restocking, and strictly following food safety and cleanliness protocols
- Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and pride in appearance at your station and throughout the café
- Operating efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced environment while remaining friendly and guest-focused under pressure
- Facilitating orders and completing transactions through POS and other sales platforms with warm, professional service
- Opening duties may include baking, setting up the espresso bar, and preparing the café to welcome guests with energy and enthusiasm
- Closing duties may include closing the bar and POS system and ensuring the café remains spotless and ready for the next day
- Always maintaining punctuality, professionalism, and a spirit of teamwork
- Being flexible and willing to perform different tasks within the café during each shift, as assigned by your manager or shift leader, with or without reasonable accommodation
Qualifications
Previous experience working in customer service or as a barista is preferred but not mandatory.
If you don’t have experience but bring a warm personality, a love for people, and a great attitude, we can teach you the rest.
- Valid work permit in Canada required
- A naturally friendly and welcoming demeanour with a genuine love for making people feel at home
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work efficiently, respectfully, and positively with other team members
- Ability to multitask while paying close attention to detail, quality, and presentation
- A passion for great coffee, fresh food, and creating memorable guest experiences
- A positive, energetic attitude and ability to maintain a calm, upbeat presence during busy times
- Availability to work flexible hours, including early openings, late closings, weekends, and holidays as business requires
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment
