Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth workflow
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including cooks and food handlers, to maintain high standards of food quality and safety
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
- Monitor food handling procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards
- Lead food preparation activities during service hours, ensuring timely delivery of dishes
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Enforce cleanliness and sanitation protocols in accordance with health codes
- Support restaurant management in training staff, developing menus, and maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Serve as a role model for team members by demonstrating leadership, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence
Skills
- Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced kitchen or restaurant environment
- Strong skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food presentation
- Excellent team management and leadership abilities
- Knowledge of restaurant management practices and food industry standards
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service hours
- Exceptional communication skills to coordinate with staff and serve customers effectively
- Experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example, motivate team members, and foster a positive work environment
Pay: $23.00-$30.00 per hour
