Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, in apartment settings and private homes. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in promoting the well-being, safety, and independence of the people we support by offering personalized supports tailored to their needs. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring assistance with daily activities, household chores, and community activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide patient care including medication administration and health monitoring under supervision
- Support with meal preparation and feeding as needed, ensuring dietary requirements are met
- Help with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
- Assist with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Documentation and communication with families, other care providers, and medical professionals is a must.
- Taking part in ongoing mandatory training is required
Qualifications
- Prior experience home care, and disability supports is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
- Strong caregiving skills combined with compassion and patience
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Being able to work alternate weekend shifts, both Saturday and Sunday is required
