Position Summary
Wallace & Wallace, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is seeking a motivated and detail oriented Inside Sales Representative to support our fencing and overhead door business in Winnipeg. This role is responsible for responding to customer inquiries, preparing accurate quotations, following up on sales opportunities, and supporting customers throughout the sales and order fulfillment process.
The successful candidate will work closely with external sales, estimating, operations, and installation teams to ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and delivered. This position is well suited for someone with strong organizational skills, a customer‑focused approach, and an interest in construction‑related products.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Support
- Respond to inbound customer inquiries related to fencing and overhead door products.
- Provide product information and guidance to residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
- Qualify customer needs based on application, measurements, usage, and site conditions.
- Follow up on quotations and sales inquiries to support order conversion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, and end‑use customers.
Quoting & Order Processing
- Prepare accurate quotations for fencing systems and overhead doors, including materials, accessories, and options.
- Interpret drawings, measurements, and specifications provided by customers.
- Coordinate with estimating, operations, and installation teams to confirm scope, pricing, and scheduling requirements.
- Process sales orders and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Communicate product availability, lead times, and pricing updates to customers.
Product & Technical Knowledge
- Develop a strong working knowledge of Wallace & Wallace’s fencing and overhead door product lines.
- Understand basic construction terminology and installation considerations.
- Identify when additional information, site measurements, or field verification is required.
- Support customers with general product and technical questions, escalating complex matters as needed.
Sales Administration & CRM
- Maintain accurate customer, quoting, and order records in company systems.
- Track quote status, follow‑ups, and sales activity.
- Support outside sales representatives and estimators as required.
- Assist with reporting on sales activity and pipeline performance.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Work toward meeting established sales targets and performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross‑selling.
- Participate in product, system, and sales training programs.
- Adhere to Wallace & Wallace standards, policies, and safety requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- 1–3 years of experience in inside sales, counter sales, or customer service.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel) and CRM or order‑entry systems.
- Ability to manage multiple quotes and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong customer service mindset and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred
- Experience in fencing, overhead doors, building materials, or construction supply.
- Familiarity with construction drawings, measurements, or take‑offs.
- Experience working with contractors or trades.
- Post‑secondary education in business, construction, or a related field.
