Overview:
Position Summary
The Automotive Glass, PPF & Dismantle Technician is responsible for performing high-quality windshield and automotive glass repairs and replacements, Paint Protection Film (PPF) installation, and vehicle dismantling/assembly operations within an OEM-certified dealership environment. This role ensures all work meets OEM safety standards, manufacturer requirements, and dealership quality expectations. The technician works closely with the collision center, service department, and parts team to deliver safe, accurate, and timely repairs while supporting an exceptional customer experience.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:

Remove, replace, and install automotive glass including windshields, back glass, side glass, and quarter glass following OEM-approved procedures.

Perform chip and crack repairs using industry-standard repair systems.

Ensure proper adhesive application, curing procedures, and safe drive-away times in accordance with OEM and adhesive manufacturer guidelines.

Inspect vehicles to identify additional damage or issues that may affect glass installation, PPF application, or safety system performance.

Support ADAS-related procedures by coordinating or performing necessary calibrations after glass installation (as required by OEM guidelines).

Install Paint Protection Film (PPF) on vehicle surfaces, ensuring proper fitment, finish quality, and adherence to manufacturer specifications.

Prepare vehicle surfaces for PPF installation, including cleaning, decontamination, and minor surface correction as required.

Perform vehicle dismantling and reassembly operations to support collision repairs, glass replacements, and refinishing processes.

Safely remove and reinstall interior and exterior vehicle components, trim, moldings, bumpers, and related parts while preventing damage.

Maintain accurate documentation, including repair notes, photos, installation records, and quality control checks.

Communicate effectively with estimators, collision technicians, and parts personnel to ensure proper parts availability and repair planning.

Follow all safety protocols, including PPE use, glass handling procedures, film installation standards, and hazardous material requirements.

Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and equipment.

Stay up to date on OEM and industry standards, technical bulletins, and training requirements.

All other duties as assigned by leadership.

1–3+ years of automotive glass repair and replacement experience required; collision center or dealership experience preferred.

Experience with Paint Protection Film (PPF) installation is preferred.

Experience with vehicle dismantling/reassembly in a collision repair or automotive environment is considered a strong asset.

Strong understanding of automotive glass installation, repair techniques, adhesive systems, and vehicle component removal procedures.

Familiarity with ADAS-related calibration requirements or willingness to learn OEM-specific procedures.

Ability to read repair orders, follow OEM procedures, and document work accurately.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.

Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

Industry certifications (NGA, I-CAR Glass, OEM glass training, PPF training/certifications) are an asset.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
