We are a dynamic and expanding CPA firm that offers significant potential for growth and professional development. We are looking for an Intermediate or Senior Accountant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage preparation and review of corporate, personal, and trust tax returns, including related schedules
- Oversee and review year-end review and compilation financial statements, ensuring compliance with ASPE and firm standards
- Supervise and mentor junior team members in preparing working papers and reconciliations
- Provide tax planning support to clients, including dividends, shareholder loans, and corporate reorganizations
- Review and finalize payroll, T3, T4, T5 and other information slips
- Handle more complex bookkeeping and reconciliations, and review client bookkeeping work for accuracy
- Prepare and review GST, PST, and WCB filings, and advise clients on compliance issues
- Communicate directly with clients, providing advice and support on accounting, tax, and financial matters
Requirements:
- Minimum 2–5 years of public practice accounting experience
- Strong technical knowledge of Canadian tax and accounting standards
- Proficiency in CaseWare/Taxcycle or similar software (asset)
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and work independently
- Supervisory or mentoring experience an asset
