About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, motivated, and hardworking Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced restaurant environment, takes pride in preparing high-quality food, and works well as part of a team.
As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing ramen and other menu items according to established recipes and food-quality standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook ramen, appetizers, toppings, and other menu items according to recipes and restaurant standards.
- Complete food preparation and station setup before service.
- Ensure proper portioning, presentation, and consistency of all dishes.
- Prepare ingredients such as meats, vegetables, noodles, sauces, and garnishes.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
- Maintain appropriate food temperatures and follow food-safety procedures.
- Monitor food quality and freshness and report any concerns to the Kitchen Manager or Supervisor.
- Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Communicate effectively with other kitchen team members and front-of-house staff.
- Keep workstations, equipment, utensils, and kitchen areas clean and organized.
- Follow proper cleaning, sanitation, storage, and food-handling procedures.
- Follow opening, closing, and daily kitchen procedures.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies.
- Minimize food waste and maintain proper portion control.
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies.
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or commercial kitchen experience is preferred.
- Experience preparing Japanese food or ramen is an asset but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and food quality.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical kitchen duties.
- Ability to lift and carry kitchen supplies when required.
- Food Safety certification is an asset.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
