Intercontinental Truck Body (ITB) is a custom truck body manufacturer in Surrey, BC and we are looking for an experienced Material Handler / Forklift Operator to join our team.
As a Material Handler your responsibilities will include but not be limited to;
- Material Handling:
- Assist with putting away stock materials (steel, aluminum, wood)
- Learn then lead weekly stock counts
- Receiving: review paperwork, match against physical goods. Process through inhouse system
- Basic computer operation: sign product in and print then affix labels
- Stock vs unit specific.
- Ensure all products are labeled.
- Forklift operation: unload deliveries and process internal requests (material pulls, equipment moves, emptying garbage/recycling)
- Yard support: Help keep yard organized and clean: move chassis, sweep, empty garbages, identify dead stock to report to the Purchasing manager etc
- Support the purchasing team with special projects (year end inventory, unit specific material checks, re-organization of materials/products to new racking systems, etc).
Qualifications:
- a positive and enthusiastic attitude
- a strong commitment to safety
- prior experience in a similar role
- a valid BC Driver's Licence and forklift certification
- ability to demonstrate a good working knowledge of safe and efficient forklift operation
- ability to read and effectively communicate in English
- good physical condition (frequent climbing, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 50 lbs are required in this role)
