The Numbers Matter. So Does Understanding the Business Behind Them.
K&D Logging, part of the Meraki Family of Companies, operates across northern BC and Alberta in forestry, road construction, and heavy equipment maintenance. Projects are underway, and leaders need reliable financial information to make sound decisions.
In this Senior Accountant role, you’ll ensure costs are tracked accurately, assets are properly accounted for, and reporting supports day-to-day operations. - Supporting full-cycle accounting: financial statements, supporting schedules, and month/year-end close from start to finish
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and coaching junior team members through the process
- Managing job and equipment costing including fuel management, analyzing cost drivers, identifying variances, and preparing useful operational reports
- Managing fixed assets: additions, disposals, depreciation, across an asset-intensive fleet
- Preparing monthly journal entries, and reconciling accounts
- Ensuring GST/PST compliance and supporting tax and regulatory filings
- Contributing to budgeting and cash flow forecasting alongside operations leadership
- Identifying and implementing process improvements that strengthen accuracy, efficiency, and consistency
- Overseeing day-to-day AP, and subcontractor payroll while supporting and guiding junior team members
