Job Summary
Star Light Events is seeking a reliable and hardworking Casual Event Décor Assistant to support event setups and takedowns for weddings, corporate events, graduations, social events, and private functions. This role is event-based, with hours varying depending on business and event needs.
The ideal candidate is dependable, adaptable, customer-service focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with event setup and takedown
- Assemble and install backdrops, balloons, centerpieces, draping, signage, and décor elements
- Load, unload, and transport event materials and supplies
- Support event styling and décor preparation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization during setups and takedowns
- Work collaboratively with team members, venues, and clients
- Provide professional and courteous customer service
- Follow setup instructions and timelines efficiently
- Assist with packing and organizing inventory after events
- Adapt to changing event needs and schedules
Qualifications
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to lift and move event equipment and décor items
- Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Previous event, hospitality, retail, or customer service experience is considered an asset
